Width & height

How large the picture is drawn, and which way round.

Costs time Costs kudos The shape changes the composition; area past native adds no detail

Typical 512-1024

Width and height set the size the picture is drawn at. Changing them gives you a different picture. They do not crop or reframe a picture you already have. Each side moves in steps of 64, between 64 and 3072.The preset chips set the pair at once and are cut for the selected model's family, which is why the same “portrait 2:3” chip reads 512×768 on a Stable Diffusion 1.5 model and 832×1216 on an SDXL one.The shape matters as much as the area. A tall frame suits a standing figure and a wide one suits a landscape, and one prompt will compose itself differently in each.Cost follows area. The horde charges by megapixelsteps, which is the number of pixels multiplied by the number of steps, so doubling both sides costs four times as many kudos.Which sizes a given model is any good at is a separate question, answered under .
